Our Process
SomeThumb can help you every step of the way, and understanding what goes into creating your website will expedite the process.
Discovery
The Discovery phase allows us to better understand your web development needs. During this important step we thoroughly investigate the scope of your project, while helping you to evaluate your web-specific goals. Thoughtful research and planning during this phase determines technical requirements, time frames, schedules and initial development costs. A client questionnaire will help identify:
- Target Audience
- E-commerce/CMS Needs
- Site Security
- Site Architecture
- Search Engine Positioning
- Scalability/Growth
Design
Design includes the visual appeal as well as the navigational and informational structure of a site. It defines how users will interact with your organization online. In this stage, we concentrate on creating or enhancing your distinctive brand identity. We use the information obtained in the Discovery phase to inform the design process. Once the most appropriate design direction is chosen, we develop this design and incorporate client feedback to reach the final design. The Design phase addresses:
- Brand Identity
- Flash Animation
- Illustration
- Photography
- Logo Design
- Business Cards
- Email Newsletters
- Advertising Banners
Development
Upon approval of the final design, we begin the coding and content creation phases; developing templates, producing web pages, building forms, integrating web technology and performing quality assurance testing. This is where your site really comes to life. We ensure that your website is responsive and secure. We provide prototypes to the client for review and feedback. The Development phase typically includes:
- Custom Software Solutions
- Database Design & Architecture
- Compliance with W3C Standards
- Browser & Operating System Validation
- Search Engine Optimization
- Usability Testing
Delivery
We migrate your website from its testing environment to your domain’s hosting server. We back up your existing site, and store it in a secure location for archival purposes. Final testing and review will be performed and upon successful completion the site will be launched. Upon Delivery, a post-launch meeting is conducted where we provide the following services:
- Success Measurements
- Project Review
- Launch Announcements
- Site Maintenance Plan
